Had a great tour of some parts of Thailand we'd not visited to say goodbye to the place. Loved the road across Thailand through the hills and staying at Greenview in Kuriburi (or something like that), and Phuket was surprisingly good once we found the quiet part, we'd go there again. The Fantasea Show was truly bizarre and excellent, the zoo should be closed, the Gibbon project was great as was the view point at the cape.
I've loved finding quiet places but they're not easy to find, and I have to say that in general Thai towns are horrible things stretched along roads with the constant tangle of wires obscuring the buildings.
Overall favourite places: Bangkok, Koh Lanta and the hills mentioned earlier. Worst are all roads, Phang nga Bay, Chumpon.
So long Thailand, and thanks for all the great food.
One week till Bali........

Its not about knowledge/information, about being able to win the argument, about being sucessful. It must be about being able to deal with life, to see what really is, not linger in the past, not judge and compare everything, just see it as it is. But education right now is all about judging/comparing/testing and success.

We have to get away from this.

One day we ought to do an rv across the usa; it has to be easier than some of the places we've been as they speak our lingo, and there are some places adding up that we have to see: New York (at Christmas?), YellowStone, San Francisco, Spaghetti Western sights, Grand Canyon, any film like Motel, New England in the fall, Thanksgiving somewhere, town like the one in Beetlegeuse, New Orleans for an anniversary........

Waterfall

A hot walk through jungle to the cold pool at Klong Plu falls, the first chance to feel cool all holiday. Kids loved jumping in or sliding down the slimy rocks into the deep dark water. Home tomorrow to who knows what's happening in bangkok? Glad to leave the rats, but the views here are so nice and we'll miss stepping outside to see the sun sparkling off the ocean every morning.

Great trip to Koh Yuak, (in the distance between the trees), loads of coral and a weird box shaped fish, clown fish and a scary drop off into the deep blue. A Lovely Day.

Chuffed:- rooms have DSTV; supersport with us like a reunion with an old friend. Speaking of friends, why do this but not Facebook? Facebook seems like the ultimate example of how we live and relate to each other through images of ourselves, the relationships aren't real. The only difference with this is probably that no one ever sees this. Anyway, back to the World Cup build up; great to see Africa so excited about it- "Once in a lifetime".

Three months and not a thought. A quarter of a year, sped by. I can't force an idea out; brain constipation. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh. pop. probably read this again and delete it in shame. No one can find it anyway. It's got potential though, I'm sure.
Everyone be nice to everyone else, that should solve everything.

Why does saying bad things about other people make us feel better? It shouldn't, its not good for you in the long run because you regret it or they find out or it isn't true. And it doesn't help, its like an addiction, smoking for the quick hit then feeling awful as you stub it out and try to wash the reek from your fingers. It's like, to feel good about yourself, you can place yourself in a better position than someone else; them being crap highlights how good you are. Maybe that's why we have religion; it gives you a standardised norm to compare yourself with to see how your doing, except it doesn't work. How else can we know how happy we are? There are so many factors: friendships, family life, money, work, health, nice shiny new things...... When you get one sorted, another one pops up. That's what drugs do, let you just think about your immediate happiness, same with meditation I guess. But you can't be on drugs all the time, and you can't
really meditate all the time, so it all has to fit in with the things to do and the responsibilities and tiredness blahblahblah.

It was a lovely day today because Mo sang and looked at me with such a happy smile, and that John Lennon song brought back so many Christmas memories. .
We are thinking of Christmas, and the beach and our family are here and enjoying where we
live and we're getting to know them all nicely.
